I went to the eye doctor today (well, yesterday really) and ended up with VERY large pupils.

There were "character actors" there as well as the big stars. Here's two of them. Brian Thompson is first. He was the Bounty Hunter on X-Files and since IWTB is a tad obsessed with the X-Files I got an autograph from him, for her. This picture is him, me, and the picture he signed for IWTB. And before you say anything... yes I know I look like a dork.

So, I'm walking along one of the tables and looking at the pictures and saw some Farscape pictures. They were all of Zhaan. Then I looked up and Zhaan was sitting RIGHT THERE! OK, really she was Virginia Hey. I had no idea she was going to be there, so that was quite exciting! She was really sweet and signed a beautiful picture for me.

It's homecoming weekend at the local college. Just out of curiousity I decided to drive down Water St. (where all the bars are) to see just how many people were out. There were a LOT of drunk people. I took some pictures, 'cuz that's what I do!
This is the crowd outside one of the rowdier bars. I've never been inside it. (and don't plan to) The crowd was spilling into the street from most of the bars, but I like the way this one is sharp in some spots and all blurred in others.

More people outside another one of the bars.

My car was moving when I took this one, so it's all blurred, but I really like the way it looks. I'm not sure why. I guess it's my impression of what being drunk must feel like. I've never had any alcohol, so I don't know, but that's the way I imagine it.

We're open, open, open, open, open, open....

And of course what homecoming would be complete without the cops?

This is Jocko. He's the weekend sports guy at work. I believe he was trying to be the 70's sports guy with this look.

I've never had any luck blowing bubble-gum bubbles. I just can't seem to get anything bigger than a tennis ball. But... IWTB can blow bubbles. I was trying to take a picture of one of her bigger ones, and ended up with this bubble in mid pop. I love the ragged edges where it's tearing.

My brother is home from college for the weekend. He's kind of a dork. My parents have a door stopper attached to the wall where the door knob hits the wall. It was making a huge dent, so they put this soft plastic rubbery thing on the wall there. My brother decided that he wanted to stick this thing to his forehead. What can I say, I come from a family of weirdos!

After he noticed me taking pictures, he decided to make a goofy face. The guy in the background is his friend Dave.

And once he took the thing off of his forehead he had a gigantic black and blue mark where it was. He's going to go back to school on Monday looking like he has an alien girlfriend who likes to suck his forehead!

Since my brother was home for the weekend, we decided to celebrate both of my parent's birthdays. My mom on Saturday, and my dad on Sunday. It technically isn't his birthday until the 8th, but since my bro was home we did it now. This is my dad before & during the candle blowing out. You can either try to count them, or trust me when I tell you that there are 54 candles on that cake.

This week's Theme Thursday is Babies. I've got two pictures for it. The first one is me and my feathered baby Dolce. Whenever I talk about him, I refer to him as "my baby" so he's quite applicable to this week's theme.

I didn't take this next picture, IWTB did. This is her neice Hannah. She was born June 19th at 1 lb. 12 ozs. She's up above 9 lbs. now but is still stuck at the hospital. IWTB and Hannah's mom Nikki went to visit on Halloween (very cute chilli pepper outfit pics to come) and they took my camera. So... Hannah is now part of my Theme Thursday!

Dan & Rachel Vendberg were commissioned as missionaries to Chad this morning at church.

At the work Christmas party. This was after most of the people left, and there were just a handful of us left being goofy and messing around.
OK, I'm finally posting some pictures from the Polar Plunge. There are a lot more than just these three, and I will get to them all, just not right now! But here's a couple...

Jes & Jerry before we all jumped.

Me, Syn, and Anna jumping.

After us, Jes & Jerry jumped right in.

The pen was Karen's door prize at the company holiday party. But this isn't an everyday kind of pen. It's a vibrating pen! It came with an interesting diagram and instructions for where to use it to um... well... relieve stress. Remember this was a company party.

Now that I've got my photoblog up and running again, I'm going to start participating in this again. Here we go!
Laughter

My little cousin Luke always makes people laugh.

These guys laughed all night. This is actually from New Years Eve.
And of course these pictures of my brother always make me laugh. He's such a goofball!
Miss Hannah is finally home from the hospital. Actually has been for a few weeks now. Syn went to visit last night and took this picture. What a cutie!

And there are more pictures in the works for her Photo Album too. I've got them re-sized, I just need to write the code and upload it. So check back later today for even more Hannah pictures!

Me, Syn, Anna, and Jes after we jumped.

Karen, Billy, and Jes. Billy is this really sweet guy who shows up at all the Special Olympics events. He knows all the people from the station and is just a really nice guy.

The studio at work through the control room window.

The almost finished product.
Syn got it done this morning. The only thing left after this picture was to color the eye red. I think it looks really cool. Not that I'd ever get one! There will shortly be more pictures of the entire outing.

It's such a gorgeous day today that after the tattooing Syn and I decided to go get lunch and eat it in the park. It was apparently 68 degrees today which is just insanely warm compared to what we've had lately.
It was the First Picnic of Spring!
OK, I took pictures for last week's theme but I forgot to upload them! Silly me. And I'm having a really hard time coming up with something for this week's theme. So, I'm just going to upload last week's and call it even.
Last week's theme was Heritage

In my parent's basement there is one long wall that Mom has covered with family pictures. Some are newer, and some are from long ago. It's very cool and I really like it.
It's not my brother's birthday until the middle of April, but he's home now for spring break (and my parents are home too) so we celebrated his birthday today! He'll be 22. My little brother is getting so old!

My boss finally brought his new baby Spencer in to work so we could all meet him. He's almost three months old and just adorable. He let all of us pass him around and make silly faces at him and never complained. (Yes I know he's got a weird expression on his face)

And of course Spencer with Syn too!

I realize this doesn't look like a very exceptional moment, but it was! Really!
This guy is Jerry, the 6 and 10pm anchor at work. He always wears slacks, nice shirt, and a tie, ALWAYS. Even when he goes out after the 10, he won't change. At the most he'll take the tie off. So, when he showed up in a t-shirt, I just had to take a picture of the event!
My dad has had a mustache for forever. The only pictures I've ever seen of him without one are from high school or earlier. Today I went home to give my mom her Mother's Day present and when he walked down the stairs... AHHH!!!!!
He had shaved it off! He looks so bizarre! Well, to me anyway. To someone who's never seen him he probably looks just fine. But it freaked me out!

Update: It occurred to me that I should include a link to my dad WITH a mustache!

My dad just got this a month or so ago. He had motorcycles when he was younger, but hasn't had a (working) one for a very, very long time. Mom jokes that she fell in love with his bike before she fell in love with him (and I'm not sure she isn't serious) And now they have one!

My parents have been taking dancing lessons for about two years now. I go home for dinner a couple times a week and inevitably a song will come up on the CD player and they'll get up and start dancing in the kitchen or the living room. I think they're adorable.

My Grandpa and Uncle Mark came over for dinner and afterwards the two of them my mom and my aunt played Rook. This is my aunt (also my mom's twin) and my uncle.

Grandpa was quite intent on the Legos that had been brought for my little cousin Luke to play with.

This is my little cousin Josiah. Isn't he adorable?
I'll be going to class to learn more of this! So much fun. They're in hard shoes which I won't get to do for quite some time, but I'm having lots of fun with the soft.

I know, the picture's not that great. It was horribly backlit and these are the best of the bunch.

You're at a party and you have your laptop out checking your e-mail! Yep, I'm a certified geek.

This is a rug:

And these are hungry drunk people at 3:30 in the morning:

So I'm a little behind, but so what!
This week's PhotoTime theme is: Odd
And this is my very odd co-worker.

He's a tad obsessed with his tongue,

and his butt...
but that's another story...

I was looking through family photos to find a picture of baby me with my duckie from the previous post and came across this picture of all four of us from shortly after my little brother was born. That's me with all the curly red hair. I had to resist the urge to scan in lots more!
On to the duckie pictures. The first two are me in the hospital with Duckie and the last one is me at home in my cradle with him (her? how do you know the sex of a stuffed animal?)

Taking a good picture of Mione is difficult because she's such a light color. But I just couldn't resist snapping this one of her and her mommy Syn. Mione has a thing for shinny anything!

Syn the pyro!

This is from the first night Dolce and Mione could join me in Rhode Island. Thanks to Mom for dealing with all the nonsense to get them on the plane out here.
I had a hard time finding an appropriate picture for this one, (which is why I'm posting on Wednesday instead of Tuesday!) I finally went with a couple shots I already had in my "arsenal."
The Phototime theme this week is: Cargo

Inspecting the cargo before takeoff and...

Unloading the cargo!
And some Theme Thursday posting now. The theme is: Twisted
This would be my hair after it gets wet. Very twisted!

Having fun with Photo Friday today. The challenge this week is: Play
These girls just wanted to play with the "ducks." I'm not sure if the parents were just playing along and not wanting to correct the kids or what, but apparently giant black, grey, and white birds are "ducks."

Despite signs to the contrary everyone, including the security guys feed the geese. So when the kids went off with their parents (and a few suspiciously food like bags!) these guys followed right behind.

Since massive amounts of Geocaching is going on while I'm home I needed to stock up on the little frogs I leave in caches. So a side trip to Michael's was included in today's searching (and finding!) of 5 caches.
Syn took this one, not me, being that I'm in the picture and everything.

Here's one that was left in a cache Saturday night.
I probably could have used this one for the "wrong" theme as well. Is it pure water? Or is it a dump station? It's both!

The man playing the part of the pastor at Plimouth Plantation. He was quite impressive! Talked to us for quite awhile about which translation of the Bible he was using (they used the Geneva one, not the KJV) He was really interesting to talk to. At the moment I can't find the name of the real guy he was portraying, but I'll keep hunting and once I do I'll post it.
Update: I think I found him. If I'm reading all the stuff I've found correctly, the real guy's name was William Brewster.

This was taken while I was back home on vacation at the beginning of the summer. Syn and I were geocaching and there was one hidden in this tree. The shot ended up looking really goofy though!

For Phototime: one of my most frequent models relaxing in the sun in the middle of a geocaching road trip at the beginning of this summer.

Experimenting with my camera at dance class tonight. This isn't quite the shot I want just yet, but it's headed towards it. I'm going to have to try again in a couple weeks.

For wordPhoto... me balancing in my ghillies.

In which I force you to look at pictures of the "Out-of-Towners" Thanksgiving dinner.

I think this qualifies as a "supporting role" for the Ark!
Whoo! That was an incredibly fun day! And normally I take loads of pictures (and of much better quality than these! These aren't my best work!) but there was so much yarn! And so many Knittyheads to talk to! And Woot!!! Yeah, it was a good time. However, there is zero chance I'm going to get names right so if you see yourself, say hey in the comments.
I'm starting with the Yarn Pr0n!

My haul from Webs. A massive cone of cotton for 10 bucks, sock yarn of two varieties I haven't tried before. In the front there's my major splurge on the left (Schaeffer Anne) and one ball each of Rowan Wool Cotton and Felted Tweed. And in the back are two sets of bamboo circulars sizes 0 & 1. I just discovered I'm alergic to my KP needles so something that's not metal for sock knitting made me very happy!

And what I grabbed in Grafton (Classic Yarns right folks?) Some Cascade for punkin's, more sock yarn; there was only the one ball of the colorway I fell in love with, but I have tiny feet so no biggie. It works, I just have to be careful. And in the front are four cute little buttons, sheep, bunny, frog, penguin.

There's a movie shooting in Providence this week with Katherine Heigl and since I had yesterday off I figured I'd go check it out. They weren't actually shooting outside, but the actors were starting outside and walking in the door. So we'd see them for a bit, they'd go in, and then we wouldn't see anything for a while. It was cool.
I only took a few pictures, this one was the clearest.
