Theme Thursday

It's Theme Thursday time!

This week is: music

I had a lot of fun with this one. I've taken piano lessons since I was seven and I couldn't resist the opportunity to take pictures of my (well, my mom's) piano.

Caddie's House

It's time for the Saturday Snapshot!

This week's assignment doesn't have a simple title, it has four steps:
1. Select something that is esthetically pleasing,
2. has unique lighting somehow,
3. something you have not photographed before,
4. and then I want you to greyscale it, and post both to show a contrast.

I took this while searching for the Caddie Woodlawn geocache. It's the place where the author of the Caddie Woodlawn book grew up. It's a really cool place. Anyway, here's the pictures!

Up, Up, and Away

It's Theme Thursday time again. This week's theme is: Up

Whenever I see these I'm always amazed that they stay up and don't all come tumbling down off of there!

T-Shirt Anyone?

Jerry T-shirt

I realize this doesn't look like a very exceptional moment, but it was! Really!

This guy is Jerry, the 6 and 10pm anchor at work. He always wears slacks, nice shirt, and a tie, ALWAYS. Even when he goes out after the 10, he won't change. At the most he'll take the tie off. So, when he showed up in a t-shirt, I just had to take a picture of the event!

Hairless John

My dad has had a mustache for forever. The only pictures I've ever seen of him without one are from high school or earlier. Today I went home to give my mom her Mother's Day present and when he walked down the stairs... AHHH!!!!!

He had shaved it off! He looks so bizarre! Well, to me anyway. To someone who's never seen him he probably looks just fine. But it freaked me out!

Dad Sans Mustache

Update: It occurred to me that I should include a link to my dad WITH a mustache!

Help!

OK everybody, I know I've been absent the last week or so. I've been busy and not in a posting mood. But now I need some help! Last week I took literally hundreds of photos for the America 24/7 project. I've narrowed it down to 14, and I'm going to post them all here and I'm asking for everyone to let me know what your favorites are. Thanks in advance for any help. I'm begging here everyone. They're all in the extended entry except for the one that I'm putting right here to tease you all into looking at the rest of them!

Pretty in Purple

Pretty Purple

I visited my aunt & uncle after I dropped my parents off at the airport yesterday and she always has lots of flowers and these were just so amazingly cool! If I'm remembering correctly they're called Magenta. And yes that's their natural color.

Grandma Flowers

Pansies

Yes, I know they're Pansies. She always had them. Always. So they're very important flowers, and I love them (and my grandma!) dearly.

Just in case anyone is wondering...

I'm having major internet issues as home so it may be a bit before I can post anything in here. Hopefully it won't be too long though! I have pictures I want to show everyone! So cross your collective blogosphere fingers for a quick resolution to my internet problems.
